The Price is Right

Monday Matt and I, my parents, and Daniel and Disa went to the Price is Right. It was Disa's birthday. What a way to celebrate!

Sunday we made shirts for the event. Mom and Dad's were the best. Hers said, "I have been RIGHT for 29 years" and his said, "I have paid the PRICE for 29 years." Disa's said, "I came to win a honeymoon" and Daniel's said, "But I will take a car."

This was an all day event. We arrived in Hollywood at 3 am and got in line. At 6am we received our Order of Arrival tickets. We were about 50th in line. Then we were free until 9am to do as we pleased so we went to IHop for some yummy breakfast.

They began the process for picking contestants at 10am with giving out your name tags, checking your ID, paperwork, and a group interview. Then you just wait, and wait, and wait.

Our taping began at 1pm. Rich Fields came out first getting the crowd excited, explaining how things work, and answering our questions. Then Drew Carey came out and they don't mess around. Things got started very quickly. You can see our episode on February 13th. It was pretty awesome. Because it was the Valentines Edition everything was done as couples. People were called up as couples, bid as couples, and played as couples.

The first couple called up was the people who were first in line. Who knows how long they waited, but they had sleeping bags and chairs out and looked freezing when we got in line. Their wait was worth it though because they won a freaking awesome car, then spun $1.00 on the wheel, and then won an ADDITIONAL $10,000. Yeah, they were pretty lucky.

Commercial breaks were fun. Drew Carey talked to the audience and contestants. He signed a girls shirt and danced with her on stage when he noticed that her name was Sherrie, causing the DJ to play the oldie "Sherry Baby". All in all it was a fun and very exhausting day as you can see from our end of the day picture above.

And thanks again, James, for watching your nieces during the day!
