I have been thinking for a week that I need to write about November and the many memories it brings. One of the best days in November was the day our little baby turned 6. I can't believe we have a six year old. Wasn't she just a baby yesterday? Time does go by in a blink. And what a joy it is. I want Reagan to always know that the day she was born she made my dreams of being a Mother come true, and I love her more than I ever thought a heart could possibly hold.
This November we held Thanksgiving at our home. I had pics, but Matt's hard drive crashed last week and we lost our pics. (It is raining problems right now, so I better document the blessings). This year in particular I have had more to be thankful for than any other year of my life. The last six months in particular have been the best I've had. We have three sweet daughters. I have an amazing husband who is smart, incredibly funny, and despite all my flaws loves me very much. I can't even describe the joy that I have had since staying home with my children. That, in particular, has been the biggest thing I was thankful for this Thanksgiving. The time I get to see just how precious they are is priceless.
Thanksgiving went off without a hitch. Matt cooked the Turkey to perfection and topped off the dinner with his sweet potato casserole. We had most of the Mogle's here for great company. And now we are off the hook for seven years while other sister in laws take a turn. :)
This November was also my ten year high school reunion. I wasn't planning to go. A couple days before the reunion Matt told me that I may regret it if I didn't go, so spur of the moment we made plans. The girls and I had a great trip to California, staying at Paul and Tara's on the way to and from California. We also stopped at Brady and Jill's home in Vegas on the return trip and it is always fun to see them. In fact, we realllllly miss them (hint, hint, Brady and Jill, if you see this- move home.)
The Saturday of my reunion a fire began in Corona, my hometown, and spread rapidly with the Santa Ana winds. The freeways had fires burning on either side of them and the smoke was so black that people fearfully abandoned their cars. I made plans to take freeways up and around the fire to get into Anahiem and left three hours early. As I traveled, I listened to talk radio only to hear that more and more freeways were being closed. I was on the freeway for a couple of hours and had gone twenty miles when I decided to turn around and go home. So, I didn't make it to the reunion. But that's okay. I still talk to many close friends from my hometown and the vacation was great for the girls to see their cousins.
We returned home from our trip just in time to enjoy Reagan's birthday followed by mine. We went to a midnight showing of Twilight for my 28th birthday. I didn't love the movie, but it was still the perfect way to celebrate. And, I can't wait to celebrate my 29th by seeing New Moon as it opens on my birthday. Two more years until the big 3-0 and life just keeps getting better.
I feel like I am forgetting more big events this November. This was the month that Brooklyn started laughing at Kenna. She loves her big sister and laughs for her more than any person on earth. This is probably my longest post, but now we have a rundown of our fun month and can start again where we are at. My favorite month of the year didn't disappoint in 2008.
