Easter in St George

Easter has been a huge Holiday my whole life. One of my favorite traditions as a child was going to Grandma and Grandpa Conk's house for Easter. Each year we would walk with our kites to the Back Bay. When we returned at the house an Easter Egg hunt would be all ready for us followed by food and games, games, games.

When I married into the Mogle family I didn't lose Easter as a large holiday. Each year we go somewhere different, chosen by the brother or sister in charge. We have been to Goblin Valley, Zions, Moab, Capital Reef, and this year Sue took us to St George. It was an adventure.

Our little family went a day early, staying at Paul and Tara's home. The next day Matt and Paul went for a bike ride while the rest of the family trickled into St George.

We had planned to hike the Red Cliffs, but rain followed us from up north. So we went to an amazing park for lunch. Cold, but fun.

We had a little Easter Egg hunt for all of the kids at Paul and Tara's.

Ellie tried to show Brooklyn that it's okay to let other people besides your Mom and Dad hold you. Brooklyn didn't agree with that idea.

We went to Pirates and Pizza for dinner and then stayed at the Wingate Wyndham hotel, the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. The kids loved the pool and we swam both nights that we were there. Sunday morning the kids founds that the Easter Bunny had found them even at the hotel!

On our way home we stopped at Silver Reef. The kids saw tons of lizards and we visited the historical monuments.

We love Easter. We know that the Savior lives and that he died for us. We know He gave his life so that we can live again with Him one day. We believe in Christ.

April, April go away. Bring May and sunshine another day.

I don't particularly like to blog about bad times because I want to remember the fun! But sometimes you just have to keep it real. Wow. Remember how I posted how November was so wonderful? I had a reason. So that during times like this I can read about the blessings and try to not focus on all the bad that is pouring down.

In St George over the weekend our Pilot decided it had run long enough and died. Thank Heaven that the men got it running the next day well enough to make it home (by stopping every hour to put in more Transmission Oil). We should find out today what is wrong- and how much it will cost. yesterday they told us it looks like they will have to rebuild the transmission. Keep in mind that this car is only 6 years old total. And that 2 years ago when it became new to us we rebuilt the tranny. So we will have rebuilt it twice in 2 years if that is the case. Oh, the best part- we were given a 7 year warranty for the Transmission last time we rebuilt it. Yeah, that company went out of business. Nice.

Due to that fact the girls and I are stuck in our house all week without a car. No biggie. It is Spring Break and we don't have any school or dance. So we should be able to play outside and go to the park all week, right? Nope. This is looking out my front door this morning...
Beautiful. And yet so ugly.

These are my daffodils two weeks ago, and then dead this morning...

Go away April. We've had enough "Spring".

Park fun

Last week for Family Home Evening Matt packed the girls up in the trailer and biked them up to Glen Canyon Park. Great exercise for Daddy, super fun for the kids. Brooklyn and I met them up there with a picnic dinner. It was so nice not to have snow on the ground, even if it was just for a day. The kids played and giggled while Reagan showed Kennedie how to go down the slide backwards. They both showed their littlest sister what a great time parks can be.
