Draper Temple Openhouse

Thursday Pennie and I took our girls to the Draper Temple Openhouse. This was a great experience for our little children because they have been outside the Temple many times, but never inside one. We parked at a Church first, watched a ten minute video about the Temple, and then rode a bus up the street to the Temple. All the girls loved the bus ride especially.

Before you enter the Temple there are brochures offered and Reagan took special interest. Each room that we visited in the Temple, Reagan would compare the room with the picture in her brochure. Her favorite room was the Bride's Room, where the bride gets ready. Kennedie and Melia held hands almost the entire time they walked through the Temple.

I can remember the experience of walking through the San Diego Temple before it was Dedicated as a teenager. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget because you can feel the Spirit so strongly, and I loved seeing the rooms that I would someday visit again when I was older. I strongly encourage friends who aren't Mormon to visit an openhouse of one of our Temples to give you an opportunity to see the different things that we hold so close to our hearts in the Temple.

House guests

Last week we had many house guests, which we LOVE. My parents and James and Josalyn came to stay Thursday night. James and his friend Garrett spent Valentines with the girls, making cookies and having fun. My Dad loved teaching his Granddaughters how to play pool. Then my parents headed up to Salt Lake to stay with my Aunt Marsha for the rest of the week. Monday we went up to her house for dinner with my parents, cousins, Aunt Marsha, Aunt Lanae, Uncle Gary, Aunt Vaneen, and Uncle Vern.

Tuesday afternoon we headed up to the airport to pick up Pennie and her girls. They had a wedding Friday that Dean also flew in from Texas to join her, but we got them for a couple days first. I had a blast catching up with Pennie, one of my oldest friends, and her beautiful little girls. She let me know that after two girls she won't be pulling a VeeAnn, but is having a little boy this time around! YAY. I am happy for them.

Thursday we went to the Draper Temple Openhouse and that night we had a couple of highschool friends who live in Utah get together to reminisce. Bethany came over with her three kiddos, and gormet cupcakes since she is amazing with cakes and cupcakes. Mike also came over and we all got to see embarassing old photos and talk all night about old times. We said goodbye to Pennie Friday morning and we were sad to see all of our house guests go.
