TWINS!

Matt and I are expecting. Our family will be complete on August 22, 2011 with the addition of two little babies to the family. We are having twins!

I went to the hospital for my first normal boring check up. I'm eight weeks pregnant. This Dr. said we would do a pelvic exam and ultrasound. He let me know that he likes to do three ultrasounds during pregnancy- one at the first appointment, one at twenty weeks where we can determine gender, and one toward the end of the pregnancy.

The ultrasound showed us the surprise of a lifetime. The technican held up two fingers and said, "two". I said, "what?" And she said, "there are two babies". I didn't say anything for a bit and she asked if I was in shock. I had the biggest smile on my face and started crying. I really don't know what mumbling, "It's unbelievables" came out after that. I was shaking a bit and practically yelled, "Kenna, there are two babies in my belly, do you see them?". Kennedie said, "Mom, your tummy is going to be HUGE." Laughing, I had to agree. The technician was so cute and said that I had the best reaction. I couldn't stop crying and my smile was plastered to my face.

I called Matt as soon as we got everyone seatbelted in the car. He didn't believe me. No joke, he really didn't believe me. He was with his brother, Mark, at the time. After our call he said, "Mark, we don't have any twins on either side of our family" to which Mark replied, "Yes we do, Matt, Grandma Warinski was a twin!" Matt called me back and asked if I was serious. I had to text him pictures of the ultrasound before I think he truly believed it. He is scared out of his mind, but excited too.

We picked up Reagan from school at 2:15. I told her that Kennedie had something to tell her. She asked, "why are you smiling so big?" Kennedie told her that we were having twins and she was so cute and excited!

I told the few friends and family who already knew that we were expecting that afternoon. Natali had the best reaction. She literally screamed. She was holding baby Miles who was so frightened by her scream that he started crying! She was so happy.

I don't think that I can adequately explain how happy I am. This will be a huge adventure, very difficult, and I think there will be so much joy that it can't all be contained! The Mogle's will be a family of seven in August!
